Final Surgery and Treatment

A New Chapter Filled With Hope

This will most likely be one of my last updates for this cancer diagnosis and I truly hope that is the case. My surgery was completed on September 18th. I am still healing, but I am doing well and feeling grateful. Yesterday I had my final immunotherapy treatment. I will continue to follow up with Oncology for a period of time, but this part of the journey is finally coming to a close.

I want to thank every single person who supported me in any way. Your prayers carried me through not once but twice. I believe deeply in the power of prayer and I know I am here today because of all of your prayers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It means more to me than you will ever know. 🩷

It is October, breast cancer awareness month, and I want to gently remind everyone to stay on top of mammograms and self breast exams. Early detection is so important. I have been through treatment twice and each time the plan was completely personalized to the size, grade and type of cancer. There are so many different types of breast cancer. I am still a little shocked that I faced it a second time and that it was completely different than my first diagnosis. It was not a recurrence but a new second primary cancer. I pray with everything in me that I never face it again.

As I close this chapter, I am holding on to hope, faith and gratitude. Thank you for being here with me. Thank you for walking beside me through the sour moments and helping me find the sweetness. Unfiltered Pink Lemonade has always been about turning life’s hardest lemons into strength.

God bless and take care of yourselves.

  2. Praising God for your way of turning the sour into the sweet. Using your journey as a way to strengthen the message of prayer.
Whatever path life takes is through we can engage with prayer which strengthens us. It strengthens each other and helps us live out and practice, being we are not in this life alone. We have each other and have that ability to pray using our gift of faith.
